Each team accepts swimmers ages 6-17 and practices at a different, conveniently located pool: the Tidal Waves at South Division, the Piranhas at MacDowell, and the Krakens at Riverside.

Goodwin has been with the district since 2017, notably serving as the manager of athletics and academics from 2019-24.

Wilson, the award’s namesake, was the director of Milwaukee Recreation from 1969-76. Rossa is the 28th recipient in the award’s history and the first Milwaukee Recreation employee to receive the honor.

Milwaukee Recreation provides a safe haven for youth in grades K3-12 during non-school hours. Before- and after-school programs feature a variety of academic, cultural, and recreational support during the school year and summer.
