After-School Arts & Humanities Opportunities

Milwaukee Recreation is dedicated to providing additional out-of-school-time arts and humanities opportunities for young people and families throughout the city of Milwaukee.

Through a variety of programs, including the Partnership for the Arts & Humanities, the Arts Internship Program, and the Creative Allies Program, we are increasing access to the arts and humanities for the next generation. These programs expand the resources and support available for arts and humanities education, and build the collective capacity of community-based partners to effectively serve children, youth, and families.

Please find more information below about our out-of-school-time arts and humanities opportunities and partnerships below.

Creative Allies Partnership

Creative Allies

The Creative Allies program, a partnership between Milwaukee Recreation and the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, supports Milwaukee Public Schools after-school sites by providing additional arts opportunities. MIAD students or graduates selected for the program are paired with an after-school site and are tasked with collaborating with site staff to create an arts program that aligns with site-specific needs and student interests, strongly emphasizing youth voice.
