Outdoor Facility Rentals

COVID-19 Update

Outdoor Permits will be scheduled to start the week of July 6, as long as each permit can prove full compliance to social distancing modifications and group size requirements.

**Subject to change at any time based on revised COVID-19 mandates at the federal, state, and/or county levels. The primary obstacles to Outdoor Permits is the guidance from the CDC and the State which currently requires social distancing of 6 feet and group size modifications of 10 or less. All permit activities will be subject to the approval process at the discretion of Milwaukee Recreation.

Currently, we will not approve any applications for summer soccer (practices, games, or leagues) due to the close contact nature of the sport. This is a fluid situation and approved activities, amongst other things, could change at any time. All Outdoor Permit applications currently submitted will be updated to show a start date of the week of July 6 . Updated dates will be emailed out to you for your approval.

The health and safety of our participants, staff, and community is our top priority. We are working closely with local and state partners for regular updates and guidance on the situation. We will provide additional updates as needed.

Milwaukee Public School outdoor facilities are available for use by the community through the Outdoor Facility Permit Application process. To secure an outdoor facility, please view the resources below and complete the appropriate Outdoor Facility Permit Application for your request. The completed application must be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to the reservation date to ensure proper processing. Every effort is made to honor permit requests. However, please note the priority for outdoor facility usage is as follows:

  1. First Priority: Milwaukee Public Schools
  2. Second Priority: Return Permit Groups requesting the same dates, times, and locations as previous year
  3. Third Priority: New Permit Groups

The permit application process is facilitated through the Milwaukee Public Schools Department of Recreation and Community Services.

Summer 2020 Outdoor Facility Permits

If you permitted with us in Summer 2019, you have first rights to the same dates, times, and locations you permitted for the upcoming Summer 2020 season. To secure your reservation for Summer 2020, your permit application(s) must be received in the Permit Office by Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 5 p.m.

On Monday, May 4, 2020 all sites will open up to the public. All new permit applications will also be reviewed at this time. Invoices will be issued shortly after. Any unpaid invoices with Milwaukee Recreation revokes your renewal rights and ability to permit.

If you have any unpaid invoices, they must be paid by before Thursday, April 30, 2020 in order for you to retain your renewal rights.

How to Make a Payment

Acceptable payments include cash, check, money order, and credit card (Visa or Mastercard). Payments can be mailed in, dropped off, or called in (credit card payments only). (Milwaukee Recreation's offices are closed to the public. In-person payments will not be accepted at this time.)

Full payment must be received by our office a minimum of one week prior to the reservation date.

Alcoholic Beverages on School Premises Prohibited

There is a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol on all MPS Outdoor Facilities including but not limited to playfields, fieldhouses, tennis courts, and sand volleyball courts. This is in accordance with City Ordinance 90-39: Alcoholic Beverages on School Premises Prohibited. This is a strictly enforced policy.
