Milwaukee Recreation will provide enrichment activities, play opportunities, and free meals at playground sites across the city beginning June 21, 2022 (for kids ages 6-17). Due to federal regulations, all provided meals are served seated and must be consumed by youth at the playground.
All playgrounds are operated as a “ free drop-in” program. Though locations are staffed and provide many enriching games and activities for youth, general supervision is only provided for youth who choose to stay on site. The playgrounds program is not a substitute for child care or similar attendance/registration-driven programs.
Please see the list below for playground locations and hours, as well as additional program opportunities that will be available at each site. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
Roving Playground Activities
Returning this summer will be the Wacky Wheels Skate Van, partnerships with the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Public Library, Artists Working in Education (AWE), and visits from the Video Game Van. Six ‘Traveling Adventures’ field trips are also being planned, along with the return of board games and arts & crafts activities to each playground site!
Specific site information and the updated Roving Activities schedule can be found here!
