Milwaukee Recreation’s range of specialized clubs connect youth with rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding, and esports opportunities.
These structured programs welcome participants of all skill levels, combining expert coaching with competitive experiences. Participants develop new skills while discovering lifelong recreational passions in supportive environments.
Through esports, Milwaukee Recreation strives to provide new opportunities for students to connect with their school community, engage in essential STEM activities, develop skills for unique career paths, and build friendships to last a lifetime.
Milwaukee Recreation has teams at multiple sites to help middle school and high school students learn the sport of mountain bike racing. Athletes learn to ride a mountain bike through the woods, pedaling around rocks and roots on trails.
Milwaukee Recreation's Rock Climbing Club is open to all city of Milwaukee residents, including both MPS and non-MPS students. Participants must be of high school age and currently enrolled in high school, and cannot attend a school that already has a designated team within the Wisconsin High School Climbing League (WHSCL).
Milwaukee Recreation partners with Wisconsin-area organizations to provide new winter sports opportunities to young people in the city. Milwaukee Recreation staff lead regular field trips to local ski resorts, where qualified instructors mentor youth and provide affordable training and equipment.
