Iron Tiger Triathlon

Milwaukee Recreation Aquatics ParticipantsMilwaukee Recreation is continuing the end-of-school-year tradition at Riverside Univ. HS Community Center with the Iron Tiger Triathlon!

On June 1, join us on Milwaukee's east side along the Milwaukee River Bike Trail. This triathlon is a fun entry-level event for individuals looking to try their first race, or those adding another competition to their racing acumen, all to build a strong community and support Milwaukee Public Schools and Milwaukee Recreation.

The event is open to both young people and adults, and provides a warm pool swim, a beautiful scenic river bike ride on a paved trail through the woods, and a soft running surface on the new RUHS track. The entire triathlon is off street except for two guarded crossings.

The sprint distance triathlon features a 825-yard pool swim (17 lengths), followed by a 12.4-mile paved bike path single loop ride, finishing with a 3.1 mile run. For younger participants, a mini-sprint will be established with the pool distanced between 100-200 yards (four or eight lengths, depending on skill level), an 8-mile bike ride, and a 1-mile run.

Both the bike path and track are 40 yards from the pool, giving triathletes quick transitions to the next stage. All participants are required to have a bike helmet. Swim caps and goggles are highly recommended.
