Dive into the world of youth competitive swimming with Milwaukee Recreation's swim team! Competitive swim is a great way to become a team player, meet new friends, and have fun while working out. Our three age-group swim clubs offer beginners and experienced swimmers with opportunities to compete against other swimmers of similar ability throughout the Milwaukee area.
Competitive swim is currently being offered at MacDowell School (Piranhas), South Division High School (Tidal Waves), and Riverside Univ. High School (Krakens). Participants are welcome to try the program for one week before joining.
See below for the skill-breakdowns within each team:
Our youngest competition category is for ages 8 & under, while our oldest category serves youth all the way through high school.
For those interested in joining a swim team despite lacking experience, Milwaukee Recreation offers the swim academy for the participant's first season. Swim academy starts for those interested in swim team as early as age 4. The only requirement for the academy is to be able to kick (with board or noodle) one 25-yard length of the pool on both the front and back. Older students (through age 12) will work on strokes, starts, turns, and learning the "lingo" of the competitive swim world.
Please visit our online registration portal to sign up for the current youth competitive swim team in your area. Contact our aquatics staff members at 414-647-6067 with any further questions.
