Cool off with Milwaukee Recreation this summer! Through our summer playgrounds program, Milwaukee Recreation staff offer supervised water play opportunities for youth. See the summer 2025 site list for Wading Pools, Cool Spots, and Splash Pads below.

Wading Pools

Wading Pools are very shallow people pools designed for young people. Sites are open for children ages 8 and under as part of the summer playgrounds program.

• Burbank Playfield: 6225 W. Adler St.
• Carver Park: 911 W. Brown St.
• Enderis Playfield: 2938 N. 72nd St.
• Harriet Tubman Park: 4750 N. 48th St.
• Holt Playfield: 1716 W. Holt Ave.
• Merrill Playfield: 461 N. 35th St.
• Mitchell Park: 2200 W. Pierce St.
• Ohio Playfield: 974 W. Holt Ave.

Cool Spots

A Cool Spot is available at the below playfield, and is a standard garden hose and sprinkler that is run out of the fieldhouse. Staff at our Cool Spot sites can turn the water on or off at the request of a parent or child.

• Whittier School Playground: 4382 S. 3rd St.

Splash Pads

Splash Pads are a safe and exciting way to cool off during the summer! Splash pads spray water from in-ground fixtures to help kids beat the heat. All splash pads are set up on a timer to help reduce water waste. Open to ages 6-17.

Splash Pads can be turned on and off by the user from Sunday - Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m., from early June through Labor Day Weekend.

UPDATE: The splash pad at Clarke Square Park is not currently available.
