Application now open for Partnership for Arts & Humanities

Partnership for the Arts & Humanities

The 2023-2025 Partnership for the Arts & Humanities application is now open. Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023.

The Partnership for the Arts and Humanities is an allocation of $1.83 million dollars approved annually by the Milwaukee Board of School Directors to support afterschool and summer arts and humanities-related opportunities for children, youth and families. Following a rigorous application review process, funds are released to community-based organizations planning to partner with schools and/or youth-serving agencies. A dollar-for-dollar match requirement encourages new partnerships between community based organizations, schools, youth serving agencies and the funding community, and promotes the use of additional funds for programming during the school day.

Please review the Program Guidelines before you begin the application. The Program Guidelines can be found on the Partnership for the Arts & Humanities webpage. As a reminder, this year we will make awards for two funding cycles (2023-24 and 2024-25). More details regarding this change can be found in the Program Guidelines.

To apply, complete and submit an application through our online application system, SurveyMonkey Apply. If you have not applied for funding in the past, you will need to create an account in the system. If you have applied for funding in the past, you will use your current account to complete and submit your application.

We will host two information sessions and one technical assistance workshop for prospective applicants in the coming weeks:

  • Information Session 1: Friday, March 10 from 10-1:30 AM via Zoom
  • Information Session 2: Friday, March 17 from 10-11:30 AM via Zoom
  • Technical Assistance Workshop: Friday, April 14 from 10-11:30 AM via Zoom (Capacity: 15). Note: You must attend one of the two informational sessions in order to attend this workshop. The workshop will include a review of your application by one of MPS’ grants specialists and a workshop on tips and tricks to submitting a strong application.

Register for any of the sessions above here. Registration is required; space is limited.

Lastly, we will continue to engage high school students in the application review process. Students will review and rate all submitted applications and participate in the application deliberation process with the rest of the community review panel. We are proud to honor youth voice.

Please contact April Heding (414-475-8508 or April [at] mkerec.net) if you have any questions.
