Great American Cleanup

COVID-19 Update: The Great American Cleanup has been postponed from its original April 25 date. Milwaukee Recreation will attempt to reschedule the event for a later date. We will notify the public with more information as soon as possible.

Great American Cleanup

The "Cleanup" is Milwaukee's largest litter cleanup and community improvement program. As part of the nationwide Great American Cleanup effort (in conjunction with Keep America Beautiful), the event promotes environmental awareness while keeping litter and graffiti off the streets.

  • Date: Saturday, April 25, 2020 CANCELED
  • Time:  9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

An annual event each April that happens at Hawthorn Glen, the cleanup attracts over 100 enthusiastic volunteers each year to help us put litter and nature back in place. Whether you are an individual, a family, a scout troop, a civic organization, or a group of friends, your help is needed.

All participants will receive coupons to several Milwaukee County attractions!

Help clean for as long as you like (but at least 1 hour).

The Great American Cleanup is sponsored by Milwaukee Recreation, Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (KGMB), and Milwaukee County Parks.
