Girls & Women in Sports Day

Girls & Women in Sports DayThis winter, Milwaukee Public Schools' Department of Gender and Identity Inclusion (Girls of Color Program), Milwaukee Recreation, and the Milwaukee City Conference are celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day with a local event for MPS girls and women!

While the nation has recognized National Girls & Women in Sports Day since 1987 (originally called National Women in Sports Day), this year's event is the first of its kind for the girls and women of the MPS community. On Feb. 5, 2025, join us at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student union (2200 E. Kenwood Blvd.) to celebrate the short-term and long-term benefits of athletics for all girls and women. Participants will experience and learn about the importance of sports and fitness, career opportunities in the sports industry, and gender equality in sports.

Healthy snacks and prizes will be available. All MPS girls and women are welcome to attend!
