Thank you to our community members for contributing such vital input as we continue the renovation project at Emigh Playfield (495 E. Morgan Ave.)! As part of a citywide playfield revitalization project, Milwaukee Recreation led multiple community engagement events to gather critical feedback from Emigh neighbors and stakeholders to determine program priorities.
The project at Emigh Playfield will feature upgraded walking loops, age-appropriate playground equipment, a splash pad, shade structures, wheel elements, basketball courts, tennis courts, and new pickleball courts. The fieldhouse will be renovated, and new and upgraded site amenities will be added, including lighting, benches and trash receptacles. The existing ball fields will remain. Playfield renovations will begin in the fall of 2024, with completion expected in the fall of 2025. After holding ribbon-cutting ceremonies at Stark Playfield and Carmen Playfield earlier this summer, Milwaukee Recreation has now completed full-scale renovations at nine playfields, as well as a tot lot renovation at Ohio Playfield.
