New Video Game Van is coming to a playfield near you!

Video Game VanThis summer, the Milwaukee Recreation Video Game Van will be making its first ever appearance at playgrounds across the city!

This brand-new mobile recreation vehicle will feature Nintendo Switch consoles, displayed on large 43-inch televisions, that children can play while at the playgrounds. Several games will be available, including Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Just Dance, and Instant Sports.

The goal of the van is to incorporate video games into playground games, which allows kids to stay physically active while playing some of their favorite video games. The van will make stops at two playground sites per day and will make the rounds to 17 playgrounds total. Milwaukee Recreation hopes to utilize this mobile vehicle in the future and continue to develop the program to serve kids throughout the city.

Video Game Van"We hope that the Video Game Van will help show kids they can enjoy their favorite video games while also staying physically active," Recreation Manager Skyler Harmon said.
