Celebrate young people at Partnership for the Arts & Humanities Showcase

Celebrate the work of our dedicated young people and community partners at the Partnership for the Arts & Humanities Showcase at the historic Turner Hall in downtown Milwaukee on Tuesday, May 16!

Event entry is free, and all are welcome to attend, including students, families, community members, and organizations. We cannot wait to see the Milwaukee community join us for this wonderful event at a spectacular venue!

The Partnership for the Arts & Humanities has supported various projects and programs throughout the Milwaukee area since 2006. This year’s Showcase will feature the outstanding work of organizations funded by the program in 2022-23. Attendees can meet over 30 partner organizations, view on-stage performances and films, peruse student work, and participate in hands-on activities and demonstrations.

  • Food: Several local food truck vendors will be on site. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be available.

Performers Preview Event

 

All young people in attendance will be entered into a drawing for a prize package, including tickets to upcoming Marcus Performing Arts Center shows, a youth theater workshop led by First Stage, and a visual art kit containing professional art-making materials. The first 50 attendees will also receive an additional raffle ticket. Raffle items include tickets to a Milwaukee Ballet performance, a Milwaukee Film membership, tickets to an Ex Fabula StorySlam, and more.

Milwaukee Recreation will also honor an Outstanding Young Creative and a Teaching Artist of the Year in its inaugural awards ceremony at the Showcase.

Milwaukee Recreation operates the Partnership for the Arts & Humanities, which is an allocation of $1.83 million approved annually by the Milwaukee Board of School Directors to support afterschool, weekend, and summer arts and humanities-related opportunities for children, youth, and families. Funds are released to community-based organizations partnering with schools and/or youth-serving agencies.
