Milwaukee Recreation carries out its mission
to enrich the lives of Milwaukee's children, youth, adults
and families through many innovative programs. These programs
are designed to improve the academic achievement of all
students during non-school hours, strengthen families, reduce
crime in the neighborhoods, and enhance the well-being of
all residents.
Personnel include 55 full-time program and
clerical staff, plus approximately 2,500 part-time employees
hired annually as instructors, leaders, field attendants,
umpires and referees. Over 100 schools and community locations
are programmed on an annual basis to serve the Milwaukee
community.
Appointment
is subject to residency requirements within the City of
Milwaukee and a criminal background check.

Staff positions include: Camp Director and
Assistant Director, Coach, Community Center Director and
Assistant Director, Field Attendant, Instructor (Children
Enrichment-Art, Dance, Music; Youth Sports-baseball, basketball,
gymnastics, soccer, t-ball, tennis, track, volleyball, etc.;
Adult Enrichment-Computers, Dance, Fitness, Yoga and more),
Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Bilingual Instructor, Naturalist, Animal
Care Attendant, Sports Official, Travel Leader, non-program staff & MORE.
